Senepol Reference Sires

Many genetic trials have been implemented here at Cobrabald to maintain and improve a select herd of performance red cattle while retaining calving ease, meat quality and maternal attributes the Senepol can offer producers, we believe these sires have helped us achieve our goal.

5 Star Brohman
Brohman, is a thick set, Extremely docile, clean coated son of 5 Star Longfellow. pictured at 28-months 852 kg, with an EMA measurement of 133 cm sq and fat depth scans of 8/7mm.  Plenty of fleshing, and a large Scrotal Circumference made this bull our top pick of the 5 star sale in 2011 where he was purchased. He has been working intensively within our herd, First calves are now on the ground.

SCR 3051N (USA)
As an imported sire for use within in our AI and ET programs  3051N has performed wonderfully, he is a low birth weight option for those wanting to utilise a bull over both heifers and cows.
his soundness and clean coat has carried through into his progeny, Calves have moderate birth weights, who have high weaning & yearling weights.

Cobrabald Galliano, progeny of SCR 3051N. pictured at 8mths was displayed at Beef 2012 & sold in Longreach early 2013. Purchaser was impressed with his weight for age, muscle and docile nature.

Castle Nugent 349L
Castle Nugent 349 has worked effectively in the Cobrabald herd, his softness, moderate bone and loose skin has left a stamp on Cobrabald females. Progeny have larger than average scrotal circumference, resulting in higher fertility at a younger age.

He is a well structured bull with a lot of softness and depth of flank, we are pleased with his progeny who are early finishing quick maturing types, but who have moderate birth weights.  His females are held in a high regard and we are very pleased with the mark he has left on Cobrabald as his sons have always sold well for us.

Castle Nugent 362
CN 362m is a good all rounder bull that will suit all beef enterprises. calves have shown tremendous growth but have still retained a good soft slick coat, with the female progeny possessing strong fertility and femininity, with bulls that will breed true to type and be an asset to any herd, that are always eagerly sought after by producers.

Cobrabald Gaston G50
This is an easy doing CN 349 Son out of one of our best donor cows. We showcased Cobrabald Gaston at Rockhampton Beef Week 2012, as he a lot of sire appeal, muscling and temperament to match. We have just started using him on a select group of females and look forward to seeing his progeny on the ground in the future.
